Does it seem like things are “missing” from the WordPress “Edit Post” or “Edit Page” screens?

Answer? “Check”.  Literally.

A few of our readers who installed EmbedIt Modified ran into this issue.  I covered it briefly in that edition but this explains it in greater detail.

WordPress Plugin: Upgrading Your WYSIWYG Editor The Right Way

The default WYSIWYG editor that comes with WordPress leaves a lot to be desired.  The problem is, it seems like some of the WYSIWYG upgrades take away some of the features that are useful to you, such as the “blockquote”.

Two Ways To Upload A WordPress Plugin

One way is to download the plugin folder and files to your hard drive, then upload it to the FTP.  Duh.  (But I’ll demonstrate it for those who aren’t sure how.  Fear not – you’re covered!)

The other is a feature within WordPress that most people I speak with don’t know even exists, but it works 95% of the time.  I’ll explain how it works, and also why I say 95% instead of 100%.

I look at it like this: 95/100 is more than 2/3, and two out of three ain’t bad.  So I’ll take it.

Making A Web Image From A Microsoft Word Document

Knowing how to make a web image from a Microsoft Word document is critical, especially if you have a “logo patchwork” on your website displaying the major-media or market-niche news outlets and publications where you are quoted, interviewed, or featured.

In this exercise, I’ll show you how to do it yourself.  All you need is Microsoft Word, Microsoft Paint, and FireFox (or the equivalents of these if you’re using a Mac).  (To make the video bigger, just click where it says “FS” on the player to make it full-screen).
